MANCELONA TOWNSHIP LIBRARY BORROWING POLICY LIBRARY CARD

Library applications may be obtained at circulation desk. All applicants must present either a valid Michigan Driver's License or State ID Card. There is no charge for a library card, but there is a $1.00 fee for adult card replacement and 50 cents for juvenile card replacement. A temporary library card will be issued to new applicants - good for 90 days. A maximum of three items may be checked out until a permanent library card is issued. If materials are returned in a timely manner, a permanent library card will be issued. Library must be notified of any address and phone number changes. Lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately to the library. You are responsible for all materials checked out on your card.

Adult Library Card: Any person 18 years of age or older is eligible to apply for a library card.

Juvenile Library Card: Any person under the age of 18 is eligible to apply for a library card. Juvenile applications require the signature of a parent or guardian with valid ID. Parents or guardians are responsible for monitoring their child's access to all Library materials and online services.

Non-resident Library Card: Must have a current library card from home library and photo ID.

CIRCULATION:

Usual borrowing period is two weeks for books, one week for videos, but some materials may have shorter borrowing periods. Library materials may be renewed one time in person or by phone. (Renewals by phone must be renewed during regular library hours). New releases and materials other patrons are waiting for cannot be renewed.

A fine is incurred only if item is returned after closing of date due.
Overdue fines stop accumulating once maximum is reached.
Minor damages: Item can be repaired and returned to collection.
Replacement: Item cannot be repaired and must be replaced at actual cost.
Lost, stolen, unreturned or irreparable materials are replaced at current market value when available or average cost for similar items in the same classification, whichever is higher.
Failure to return borrowed materials is a misdemeanor.

Services: Computers are available for public use as an extension of our library services. All persons 18 years of age and older may have access to the Internet. All persons under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian present to monitor activities. Loading or installing programs or software on library computers is prohibited. There is no charge for the use of computers, but there is a charge for printing as listed below.

Inter Loans - As an extension of our library services an item can be borrowed from another library when our Library does not have materials that are requested. A charge of $ 2.00 per item is due at time of request.
