RESIDENTS OF MANCELONA TOWNSHIP

The 2008 cleanup day will be held on Saturday, June 21st, so mark your calendars.

Residents may bring one pickup truck or utility trailer load per household, not to exceed 4 ft by 8 ft by 4 ft in size.

Proof of residency in the form of voter registration card, latest property tax notice, or current electric bill is required. Items brought from any place other than the resident's location will result in a penalty fee and possible loss of privileges in future cleanups.

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS: household rubbish, building materials (nothing over six foot), household furniture (including chairs, couches, mattresses), appliances including refrigerators, which are tagged "Freon free", scrap metal, and car batteries.

The following items will be accepted at the owner's expense:

Car tires (19 inches or less) - $6.00 per tire
Batteries - $5.00 per battery
Appliances with Freon - $30.00 per appliance to be paid directly to American Waste.

UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS: Liquids including unsolidified paint, motor oil and antifreeze; yard wastes, leaves and brush; chemical or other hazardous wastes; flammables and explosives; broken glass; dangerous items such as gasoline or hot ashes; engine blocks and any other items too heavy to be lifted by two average people, and; cars, mobile homes/house trailers.

ITEMS MUST NOT BE BROUGHT TO THE CLEANUP SITE PRIOR TO 7:00 a.m., June 21, 2008. .
